In that capacity, he has helped mentor a stable of British stars, including <strong>Duncan Scott, Kathleen Dawson, Toni Shaw<\/strong> and <strong>Ross Murdoch,<\/strong> to Olympic and Paralympic success. Lynn was Team Scotland\u2019s Aquatics Team Leader for the 2018 Commonwealth Games. He played a key role in helping Scotland navigate the challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic, from the national level to the underlying club structure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am delighted to take up this post and I\u2019m very excited to get started,\u201d Lynn said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.britishswimming.org\/news\/general-swimming-news\/lynn-joins-british-swimming-head-performance-development\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in a British Swimming statement<\/a>. \u201cThe challenge of working in performance development across the three disciplines is inspiring, and I look forward to working with partners across England, Wales and Scotland to progress our ambitions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe next few years are incredibly busy with international competition opportunities around the world for our developing aquatics athletes. This year in particular will see junior Championships at world and European level for many of our 2024 Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls. I\u2019d like to thank stakeholders across Scottish Swimming \u2013 swimmers, coaches, clubs and partners for their support and commitment in the past seven years. It has been a very successful period for aquatics in Scotland, and I\u2019m grateful to have been a part of the journey.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In his new role, Lynn will lead strategic development and implementation of British Swimming\u2019s Performance Pathways, for Olympic and Paralympic swimmers and Olympic divers. His responsibility will be to \u201censure the effective transition\u201d of junior talent to the senior level, overseeing the Talent Programmes across the three home nations.<\/p>\n<p>Lynn is part of a general reshuffling of British Swimming\u2019s hierarchy, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.britishswimming.org\/news\/general-swimming-news\/new-look-leadership-setup-british-swimming\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced last December<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/olympics-adam-peaty-fuels-great-britain-to-inaugural-gold-in-400-mixed-medley-relay\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">after a wildly successful<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/olympics-great-britain-ends-medal-drought-in-800-free-relay-dressel-less-americans-fail-to-medal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tokyo Olympic Games<\/a>. He will work with <strong>Chris Spice,<\/strong> who in December was elevated to Performance Director of the new World Class Leadership Team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is an incredibly important position within the new structure at British Swimming, providing strategic leadership for our discipline pathways,\u201d British Swimming Associate Performance Director <strong>Tim Jones<\/strong> said. \u201cWe are delighted to make such a strong appointment in bringing Alan into the organisation.
