{"id":496179,"date":"2022-01-28T20:52:27","date_gmt":"2022-01-29T03:52:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=496179"},"modified":"2022-01-28T20:52:27","modified_gmt":"2022-01-29T03:52:27","slug":"danielle-hepler-mens-depth-pace-texas-am-sweep","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/danielle-hepler-mens-depth-pace-texas-am-sweep\/","title":{"rendered":"Danielle Hepler, Men\u2019s Depth Pace Texas A&#038;M Sweep"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Danielle Hepler, Men\u2019s Depth Pace Texas A&amp;M Sweep<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Texas A&amp;M celebrated its senior day with a sweep of Southern Methodist University on Friday night, the men\u2019s and women\u2019s team scoring decisive victories.<\/p>\n<p>On <a href=\"https:\/\/12thman.com\/news\/2022\/1\/28\/womens-swimming-and-diving-no-22-texas-am-take-down-smu-in-final-home-meet.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the women\u2019s side<\/a>, the 22nd-ranked Aggies took home a 174-114 victory. The <a href=\"https:\/\/12thman.com\/news\/2022\/1\/28\/mens-swimming-and-diving-no-23-aggies-dominate-smu-on-senior-night.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">No. 23 men\u2019s team<\/a> tallied a 178-115 victory.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Danielle Hepler<\/strong> led the way for the women\u2019s team. She won the 200 freestyle in 1:50.25 and followed up with a victory in the 100 butterfly in 55.39. Hepler also swam a leg on the victorious 200 free relay.<\/p>\n<p>Bobbi Kennett added wins in the 200 individual medley and 100 free. She was also second in the 100 breaststroke.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/sec-swimming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SEC Swimming<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Aggies picked up a clean sweep of victories. <strong>Abby Grottle<\/strong> won the 1,000 free and was second in the 500. <strong>Jordan Buechler<\/strong> claimed the 100 backstroke in 55.98, was second to Helper in the 100 fly and handed off to her in the 200 free relay. <strong>Charlotte Longbottom<\/strong> won the 100 breast and was second to teammate <strong>Joelle Reddin<\/strong> in the 200. <strong>Chloe Stepanek<\/strong> won the 50 free in 23.13 and was second in the 1,000 free and 200 back.<\/p>\n<p>Other winners included <strong>Sarah Holt<\/strong> (200 fly), <strong>Aviv Barzelay<\/strong> (200 back) and <strong>Mollie Wright<\/strong> (500 free). <strong>Payton Props<\/strong> and <strong>Aimee Wilson<\/strong> divvied up the diving honors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tyler Hulet, Trey Dickey<\/strong> and <strong>Andres Puente<\/strong> won two events each for the Aggies. Hulet swept the backstroke events. Puente was tops in both breaststroke swims to go with breaststroke duty on the winning 200 medley relay. Dickey claimed the 1,000 free and 200 back.<\/p>\n<p>Relay winner <strong>Jace Brown<\/strong> won the 100 fly. <strong>Luke Stuart<\/strong> claimed the 200 fly, <strong>Seth Reno<\/strong> was quickest in the 50 and <strong>Kaloyan Bratanov<\/strong> won the 100 free, anchored the winning 200 free relay and notched a pair of runner-up finishes. <strong>Victor Povzner<\/strong> won both diving events.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Colin Feehery<\/strong> got a win for the Mustangs in the 200 free in a time of 1:39.21.
