The fifth-ranked men\u2019s team capped a 9- 0 regular season and recorded their 15th consecutive win dating to 2019 with a 140-104 decision.<\/p>\n<p>Hayden scored 399.38 points on 3-meter diving. It downs the highest score in an Indiana dual meet in history, trouncing the 373.95 set in 2006 by <strong>Christina Loukas.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hayden also won the 1-meter diving in 335.55. <strong>Tarrin Gilliand,<\/strong> the reigning Big Ten diver of the week, was second in both events.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/big-ten-swimming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Big Ten Swimming<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cIt was a great showing for IU women\u2019s diving with Kristen Hayden breaking a dual meet record and trending towards some great diving that we hope to see in the postseason,\u201d IU diving coach <strong>Drew Johansen<\/strong> said <a href=\"https:\/\/iuhoosiers.com\/news\/2022\/1\/28\/mens-swimming-and-diving-hayden-sets-personal-program-bests-as-hoosiers-beat-evansville.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in a team release<\/a>. \u201cAll our athletes did well, as we had multiple personal bests. Right now, the focus is to stay healthy and get them right for Big Ten Championships coming up in just a few weeks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the pool, freshman <strong>Ching Hwee Gan<\/strong> grabbed an NCAA B cut in just her third meet. She won the 1,650 freestyle in 16:14.67. She also put in the fastest time of the day in the 200 free (1:48.41). <strong>Dominika Kossakowska<\/strong> won the 100 free, was second in the 200 and second to <strong>Elyse Heiser<\/strong> in the 500 free. <strong>Aislinn Holder<\/strong> made it a clean sweep of freestyle in the 50.<\/p>\n<p>On the stroke side, 200 medley relay mates <strong>Brearna Crawford<\/strong> (100 butterfly), <strong>Catherine Graham<\/strong> (100 backstroke) and <strong>Noelle Peplowski<\/strong> (200 back) added individual wins. <strong>Cat Minic<\/strong> won the 200 individual medley, and <strong>Ella Ristic<\/strong> won the 100 back.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Van Mathias<\/strong> led the men\u2019s effort by wining the 50 freestyle and 100 breast. Indiana swept freestyle, with <strong>Corey Gambardella<\/strong> in the 100, <strong>Jasper Davis<\/strong> in the 200, <strong>Ben McDade<\/strong> in the 500 and <strong>Michael Draves<\/strong> in the 1,000. <strong>Joseph Radde<\/strong> and <strong>Logan Graham<\/strong> swept backstroke, <strong>Rafael Miroslaw<\/strong> claimed the 200 IM and <strong>Jacob Steele<\/strong> paired a medley relay win with the 200 fly title.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kristen Hayden Sets Dual-Meet Diving Record as Indiana Sweeps Evansville Kristen Hayden won the 3-meter diving event with the program\u2019s best dual-meet score as Indiana swept out Evansville Friday.
