Carson Foster Swims 4:15 400 IM in Texas-TCU Long Course Meet<\/strong><\/p>\n

After Texas crushed Big-12 rival TCU in a traditional short course dual meet Friday<\/a>, the Longhorns and Horned Frogs returned to the pool Saturday to compete in some long course racing. The top performance came from versatile sophomore\u00a0Carson Foster<\/strong> swimming a 4:15.46 in the 400 IM.<\/p>\n

Foster, has been on fire all year after recording the fastest time in the world in 2021 in late July<\/a>, and he returned after his 400 IM to team with\u00a0Drew Kibler<\/strong>,\u00a0Coby Carrozza\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Luke Hobson<\/strong> to swim a 7:14.37 in the 800 freestyle relay, breaking Texas’ pool record by more than 10 seconds.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, impressive breaststroker\u00a0Caspar Corbeau<\/strong> swam a 1:00.85 in the 100 breast before recording a 1:00.27 400 medley relay split.<\/p>\n

One pool record fell and another was threatened during No. 1 Texas Men’s Swimming’s long course time trials at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center on the second day of two-day dual meet against TCU.<\/p>\n

The Longhorns closed out the second session of competition by crushing the 800 long course free relay as senior Drew<\/strong> Kibler<\/strong>, sophomore Coby<\/strong> Carrozza<\/strong>, freshman Luke Hobson<\/strong> and sophomore Carson Foster<\/strong> registered a time of 7:14.37, blowing past the previous mark of 7:24.64.<\/p>\n

In the race prior, senior Cameron Auchinachie,<\/strong> junior Caspar<\/strong> Corbeau<\/strong>, junior Cole Crane<\/strong> and senior Daniel Krueger<\/strong> clocked 3:39.89 in the 400 LC medley relay, just shy of the record of 3:39.26.<\/p>\n

On the day, Texas posted the top time in the seven of the nine time trials in which both the Longhorns and Horned Frogs had swimmers competing.<\/p>\n
