{"id":494911,"date":"2022-01-04T15:12:05","date_gmt":"2022-01-04T22:12:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=494911"},"modified":"2022-01-04T15:12:05","modified_gmt":"2022-01-04T22:12:05","slug":"double-olympic-medallist-luke-greenbank-unveiled-as-the-first-ap-brand-athlete","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/double-olympic-medallist-luke-greenbank-unveiled-as-the-first-ap-brand-athlete\/","title":{"rendered":"Double Olympic Medallist Luke Greenbank Unveiled As The First AP Brand Athlete"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two-time Tokyo medallist <strong>Luke Greenbank<\/strong> has been unveiled as the first athlete of the AP brand, founded by <strong>Adam Peaty<\/strong> and <strong>Ed Baxter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>AP has been delivering race clinics since 2019 and are now expanding with the goal of retaining young swimmers who are in danger of leaving the sport and helping bridge the gap between junior and senior competition by providing race opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover the duo have named Greenbank as their first sponsored athlete which will give financial support to the Olympic 200 back bronze medallist.<\/p>\n<p>So too will there be access to wider commercial opportunities for the Briton, who won Olympic medley relay silver in Tokyo alongside Peaty, <strong>James Guy<\/strong> and <strong>Duncan Scott<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Baxter and Greenbank made the announcement on the Propulsion Swimming podcast with the latter saying:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;It is absolutely incredible: just seeing how the brand has grown over the past two or three years is something I am really excited to be a part of and potentially grow that brand further.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The brand&#8217;s motto &#8216;Better Than Yesterday&#8217; definitely aligns with how I want to improve every day and that really resonates in the brand itself.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"oembed-wrap\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We are so proud to introduce <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/lukegreenbank97?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@lukegreenbank97<\/a> as our first ever AP Athlete!
