NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of Michigan has received its fifth verbal commitment for the 2023-24 season and beyond from U.S. Open qualifier Madison Smith\u00a0<\/strong>of Brookeville, Maryland.<\/p>\n

She will join Hannah Bellard<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Anna Boemer<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Taylor Morris<\/strong><\/a>, and\u00a0Mattea Sokolow<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>as a member of the Wolverines’ Class of 2027.<\/p>\n

Regarding her commitment, she said:<\/p>\n

I would like to thank my family, coaches, teammates, and friends for helping me get to this point. I can\u2019t wait to be a part of such an incredible team! Smith, who trains year-round with Rockville Montgomery Swim Club, most recently competed at the RMSC Holiday Invitational where she won three events and achieved six personal bests. This past summer, she earned gold in the 400m free at Potomac Valley Seniors before going on to win that event as well as take bronze in the 1500m free at the NCSA Championships.<\/p>\n
