NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Northwestern University has picked up two more verbal commitments for the fall of 2023 from Los Altos, Calif. native Audrey J-Cheng<\/strong> and\u00a0Amy Pan\u00a0<\/strong>of Farmington Hills, Mich.<\/p>\n

She will join Maggie Papanicholas<\/strong><\/a>, Maggie Belbot<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0Lexi Greenhawt<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0May Peterson<\/a><\/strong>, and\u00a0Sydney Smith<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0as a member of the Wildcats\u2019 Class of 2027.<\/p>\n

Regarding her commitment, she said:<\/p>\n

“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Northwestern University! I would like to thank everyone for supporting me through this process, especially my coaches, friends, and family! Can\u2019t wait to be a part of this amazing team! GO CATS!!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

J-Cheng does her club swimming with Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics and most recently placed eighth in the 200 breast and 10th in the 400 IM at the Speedo Winter West Championships earlier this month. This past summer, she posted four top-12 finishes at Roseville Sectionals. She is a junior at Sacred Heart Prep High School and is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.<\/p>\n

    Regarding her commitment, she said:<\/p>\n

    “I am beyond excited and honored to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Northwestern University! I am so thankful for the support of my coaches, teammates, and family throughout this entire process. Go Wildcats!!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

    Pan, who trains year-round with Farmington Family YMCA, raced three events at the Speedo Winter East Championships. Last spring, she raced to seventh in the 100m free and eighth in the 100m back at Elkhart Sectionals and finaled in three events at the 18&U TYR Richmond Spring Cup. She is also a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.<\/p>\n
