ALMOST a week after nearly taking down the Michigan men\u2019s team, Ohio State had a much easier time against the Division I mid-major team from Wright State on Friday night, winning with a score of 159-106.<\/p>\n<p>The Buckeyes, who rank No. 4 in the recent CSCAA men\u2019s top 25 poll, won every event in their final dual meet of the season. Diver Stephen Etienne was the only double winner, winning the 1-meter springboard by 95 points with a score of 383.03. He was equally dominant on the 3-meter, scoring 423.98 points to win by 77 points.<\/p>\n<p>Ohio State put the meet away early, going 1-2-3 in the first two individual events. Alex Osterhage led the way in the 1000 freestyle with a 9:28.95, followed by a 1:38.05 by Josh Fleagle in the 200 free.<\/p>\n<p>The Buckeye streak continued with a 51.17 from Andrew Appleby in the 100 backstroke, followed by a 57.27 by Garrett Trebilcock in the 100 breast. Chris Depietro posted a 1:53.76 to win the 200 fly, while Michael Disalle won the 50 free with a 21.07.<\/p>\n<p>Tim Phillips, back on the OSU campus for his senior season after spending the fall training with SwimMAC-Carolina, won the 100 free with 45.00. He also posted a 21.60 butterfly split on OSU\u2019s winning 200 medley relay and led off the 200 free relay with a 20.83.<\/p>\n<p>Rowan Williams kept the day rolling for Ohio State with a win in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:52.82. DJ Macdonald won the 200 breast in 2:02.17 to keep the first-place points coming for the Buckeyes.<\/p>\n<p>By this point, the meet victory had been secured, and Ohio State swam exhibition in the next two events. Though the Buckeyes posted 1-2-3 finishes in the 500 free (led by a 4:31.22 from Steffen Hillmer) and 100 fly (with Peter Lyon posting a 50.45), the first-place points went to Matthew Dassow in the 500 free with his 4:41.51, and to Merritt Sparks in the 100 fly on his 52.36 swim.<\/p>\n<p>Ohio State picked up nine points in the final individual event, the 200 IM, from Michael Gallagher, as he posted a 1:52.27.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/results\/pdf\/osu-wright_state.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Results For: Ohio State men vs. Wright State<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>COLUMBUS, Ohio, February 8.
