BRIGHTON, Michigan, February 7. U.S. Masters Swimming legend Jack Groselle added to his long list of swimming accomplishments last weekend with a world record in the short course meters 400 freestyle at the Super Bowl meet at Brighton High School.<\/p>\n
The multiple national record holder just entered the 60-64 age group and posted a 4:35.11 in the 400 free to take down Jim McConica’s 4:35.39 from 2012. It marks Groselle’s first world record in this event, and gives him four Masters world records.<\/p>\n
Groselle owns the short course world record in the 100 free for the 55-59 age group with a 54.50, as well as the long course records in the same age group in the 50 free (25.01) and 100 free (56.08).<\/p>\n
Groselle also made a run at Rich Abrahams’ 100 free record of 56.63, falling a bit short with a 57.39. He also posted a 1:06.84 in the 100 IM, a little more than a second off Tim Shead’s mark of 1:05.53.<\/p>\n
