The stars of the meet are in the women&#8217;s competition, as three of the five women&#8217;s events feature a U.S. Olympic medalist as the heavy favorite.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Katie Ledecky<\/strong>, who has already won the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/katie-ledecky-starts-u-s-open-with-victory-in-800-freestyle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">800 free<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/katie-ledecky-sets-u-s-open-record-with-400-51-in-400-free-to-start-second-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">400 free<\/a> during the first two days in Greensboro, will be the top seed in the women&#8217;s 200 free final by almost four seconds. She swam a 1:56.06 in prelims, while\u00a0<strong>Erin Gemmell<\/strong> was the only other swimmer to break 2:00. Meanwhile,\u00a0<strong>Regan Smith<\/strong> was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/us-open-day-3-prelims-regan-smith-takes-top-seed-in-first-meet-since-joining-stanford\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the top seed in both the 100 fly and 100 back<\/a> after prelims, but the American-record holder in the 100 back will focus on that event in the final after withdrawing from the 100 fly.<\/p>\n<p>Also in action will be\u00a0<strong>Leah Smith<\/strong> as the top seed in the women&#8217;s 400 IM, while distance star\u00a0<strong>Bobby Finke<\/strong> will try his hand at the 400 IM.
