Precious Medal Check For Kaylee McKeown As Airport Security Stops Golden Girl In Her Tracks<\/p>\n

Kaylee McKeown <\/strong>is slowly but surely getting used to the attention that comes with being a triple Olympic swimming gold medallist<\/a> in Australia \u2013 but there are some things that still come from a left field.<\/p>\n

Like when you arrive at an airport and the metal detector goes off and a stern-faced security guard is alerted to an object in your carry on.<\/p>\n

Such was the case when McKeown joined the passengers for a flight from Brisbane to Cairns last weekend to attend a Swim Clinic for sponsor Speedo and was pulled up by the guard.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou do get pulled up at the airport (I know) \u2013 (but)\u00a0 this morning they actually pulled me aside and were like \u2018oh, what\u2019s this?\u2019 McKeown told the Cairns Post. <\/em>\u201cI was like \u2018oh, it\u2019s a medal\u2019, and they\u2019re like \u2018we\u2019re going to have to take it out\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s fortunate I only brought the one with me otherwise I might have been at the airport a bit longer.\u201d<\/p>\n

And surprise, surprise…no ordinary medal \u2013 just happened to be one of the three Olympic golds Kaylee won in a spectacular Tokyo<\/a> fashion\u00a0 \u2013 taking out the 100 and 200m backstroke and the 4x100m medley relay with Chelsea Hodges, Emma McKeon<\/strong> and Cate Campbell.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Just another day in what has been quite the year for McKeown with the 20-year-old revealing this week that she produced the swims of her life swimming in pain in Tokyo after tearing the labrum muscle in her left shoulder on the eve of the Games.<\/p>\n
