{"id":492293,"date":"2021-12-02T12:25:03","date_gmt":"2021-12-02T19:25:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=492293"},"modified":"2021-12-02T12:25:03","modified_gmt":"2021-12-02T19:25:03","slug":"james-madison-secures-first-class-of-2023-verbal-commitment-from-riley-bridgman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/james-madison-secures-first-class-of-2023-verbal-commitment-from-riley-bridgman\/","title":{"rendered":"James Madison Secures First Class of 2023 Verbal Commitment From Riley Bridgman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>James Madison University has received their first verbal commitment for the 2022-23 season and beyond from Junior National qualifier\u00a0<strong>Riley Bridgman\u00a0<\/strong>of Midlothian, Virginia.<\/p>\n<p>She told\u00a0<em>Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>\u201cI and so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at James Madison University.\u00a0 Thank you to my family, coaches, team and friends for helping me and supporting me through this all.\u00a0 I can\u2019t wait to be a part of such and amazing group of swimmers and coaches.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>A talented breaststroker and IMer, Bridgman trains year-round with Quest Swimming and earned four best times at Virginia Long Course Seniors this past summer where her highest finish was a fifth-place showing in the 400m IM. Back in March, she was the runner-up in the 50m breast at the ISCA International Senior Cup.<\/p>\n<p>Her best times include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 breast &#8211; 29.37<\/li>\n<li>100 breast &#8211; 1:03.18<\/li>\n<li>200 breast &#8211; 2:18.24<\/li>\n<li>200 IM &#8211; 2:06.18<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Currently a junior at Colonial Heights High School, Bridgman is already a four-time individual Virginia Class 3 State Championship finalist.
