David McNulty<\/strong> has been honoured as the Coach of the Year at the Team GB Awards after three of his swimmers at Bath NTC claimed five golds in Tokyo.<\/p>\n

Tom Dean<\/strong> won the 200 free and was part of the men’s 4×200 freestyle relay that claimed gold with James Guy<\/strong> – also coached by McNulty – with Matt Richards <\/strong>and Calum Jarvis<\/strong>, the pair also based at Bath and who were guided by Jol Finck\u00a0<\/strong>before his move to Nunawading, Australia.<\/p>\n

Guy also won gold in the 4×100 mixed medley and silver with the men’s medley relay.<\/p>\n

Freya Anderson<\/strong> was also awarded a gold in the mixed medley after swimming the heats.<\/p>\n

McNulty was presented with the award at the annual Team GB ball at London Evolution and the British Olympic Association said on its website:<\/p>\n

“Team GB\u2019s Tokyo 2020 Chef de Mission, Mark England, presented an award to Team GB swimming coach David McNulty in recognition of his sustained excellence and dedication to the British swimming programme.<\/p>\n
“His successes in Tokyo included bringing through swim sensation Tom Dean who won gold in both the men\u2019s 200m freestyle and men\u2019s 4x200m freestyle.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
That sustained excellence has seen McNulty guide many swimmers to Olympic podiums over the years.<\/p>\n
Siobhan O’Connor<\/strong> – who has many times referred to McNulty as her “second dad” – won a stunning silver in the 200IM at Rio 2016 while\u00a0Jazz Carlin<\/strong> took silver in the 400 and 800 free at the same Games.<\/p>\n
Joanne Jackson<\/strong> (400 free bronze in 2008), Michael Jamieson<\/strong> (200br silver in 2012) and Chris Walker-Hebborn<\/strong> (men’s medley relay silver at Rio 2016) have all been guided by McNulty.<\/p>\n
Two-time Olympian Mel Marshall<\/strong> – now coach to Adam Peaty<\/strong> – has also worked with McNulty.<\/p>\n
