NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Auburn University has recently landed a big verbal commitment for the 2023-24 season and beyond from Olympic Trials qualifier Andrew Billitto<\/strong> of Seminole, Florida.<\/p>\n

Regarding his commitment, he said:<\/p>\n

\u201cI am honored to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at Auburn University!! As soon as I stepped on campus I felt immediately accepted by the coaches and team. I want to thank my coaches, family, teammates, friends, and especially God for getting me where I am today. This has been an amazing journey and I can\u2019t wait to continue it at Auburn! WAR EAGLE!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Billitto, who does his club swimming with West Florida Lightning Aquatics, won the 50m free and 200m IM at Florida Summer Seniors after racing the 100m back at Wave I of Olympic Trials this past summer. Last winter, he earned gold in the 100m back at Southern Zone Sectionals where he achieved six personal best times.<\/p>\n

Currently a junior at Seminole High School, Billitto is a four-time Florida 3A State Championship finalist. He won the 50 free and was the runner-up in the 100 fly in 2021 after taking second in the 100 fly and third in the 100 back during his sophomore season.<\/p>\n
He has also earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors for his efforts in the classroom.<\/p>\n
Billitto would’ve scored in the C-final of the 100 fly at the 2021 SEC Championships where Auburn finished 10th out of 12 teams.<\/p>\n
