He takes down his time from Brest in his native Belarus last December at 55.34. It also downs the ISL record that <strong>Adam Peaty<\/strong> set in 2020 at 55.41. He did the job on the first 50, going out .11 faster than when he set the world record.<\/p>\n<p>Shymanovich\u2019s splits:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2020: 25.88 \u2013 29.46 \u2013 55.34<\/li>\n<li>Friday: 25.77 \u2013 29.55 \u2013 55.32<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s amazing,\u201d Shymanovich said on the ISL broadcast. \u201cI don\u2019t know what happened, but it\u2019s happened.\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/world-swimming-records-short-course-meters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Short-Course World Records<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>He also added that it was, \u201cjust my personal best.\u201d He alluded to a little disappointment after losing out to <strong>Nicolo Martinenghi<\/strong> in the men\u2019s 50 breast on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Shymanovich did win the 200 breast. His win is his 13th of the season.<\/p>\n<p>The world record is the third of the season in ISL, joining <strong>Coleman Stewart\u2019s<\/strong> mark <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/flash-coleman-stewart-set-100-backstroke-world-record-at-isl-match-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in the 100 backstroke<\/a> and Shymanovich tying <strong>Cameron van der Burgh\u2019s<\/strong> mark <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/flash-ilya-shymanovich-matches-50-breaststroke-wr-in-25-25\/\"
