This is the Swim Poll of the Week for Thursday, November 24, 2021, sponsored by Strechcordz Swim Training Products<\/a>. In our last poll, we wanted to know: Who Will Win Coach of the Year Award at Golden Goggles?<\/strong><\/p>\n

This week we’re asking about the coaches. The nominees for the award are coaches Ron Aitken, Jack Bauerle, Todd DeSorbo, Greg Meehan, Anthony Nesty, <\/strong>and Gregg Troy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Aitken had three Sandpiper swimmers make their way to Tokyo in 2021. Erica Sullivan<\/strong> and Bella Simms<\/strong>, who both claimed silver, and 15-year-old Katie Grimes<\/strong> who just missed the podium.<\/p>\n

Bauerle had six former Bulldogs compete in the 2021 Games. This resulted in two gold medals, one silver, and one bronze medal. Former Georgia swimmers Chase Kalisz<\/strong> and Jay Litherland<\/strong> finished 1-2 in the men’s 400m individual medley. This was Bauerle’s fourth appointment as a U.S. team Olympic coach.<\/p>\n

DeSorbo, current UVA head coach, had his Olympic debut in Tokyo as an assistant coach. His four qualifying women collected four medals, two of them being individual wins.<\/p>\n

Meehan served as Team USA’s head coach and brought back 18 medals. This was his second time being selected as an Olympic coach for Team USA.<\/p>\n

Nesty, of the Florida Gators, led Bobby Finke<\/strong> and Kieran Smith<\/strong> to three medals in his rookie year. This was his first time representing the USA as an assistant coach of the men’s Olympic team.<\/p>\n

Troy, in his fourth Olympic assignment, helped direct Caeleb Dressel<\/strong> to five gold medals and two world-record finishes in Tokyo. In addition to coaching Dressel, he was one of Team USA’s assistant coaches.<\/p>\n

So which of these impressive coaches deserves to win the Golden Goggle?<\/p>\n
