She unsurprisingly also won the 100 breaststroke, in a time of 59.66. It downed the state record she set as a sophomore in 2019 at 1:00.61.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt felt good and I\u2019m excited,\u201d Jacoby <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adn.com\/sports\/high-school-sports\/2021\/11\/06\/at-alaskas-state-high-school-swim-meet-excitement-for-2-olympians-competing-on-a-different-stage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told the <em>Anchorage Daily News<\/em><\/a>. \u201cNot quite my best time, but it felt good to finish high school strong and under a minute.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That time is in the top 10 all-time, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nfhs.org\/RecordBook\/Record-book-result.aspx?CategoryId=1428\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">by the NFHS record book<\/a>, for high school swimmers. It\u2019s just behind the time of 59.63 posted by one <strong>Lilly King<\/strong> when she was in high school in 2015. Jacoby and King were in the same Olympic final in the women\u2019s 100 breast in Tokyo over the summer, Jacoby <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/olympics-lydia-jacoby-pulls-stunner-to-win-100-breast-lilly-king-third\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pulling a surprise to grab the gold medal<\/a> and King getting bronze.<\/p>\n<p>Jacoby has been faster outside of high school competition, clocking in at 58.87 at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimcloud.com\/results\/199239\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the OPA Alaska Junior Olympics in June<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s crazy to think that I am done with high school swimming, but it\u2019s been great,\u201d Jacoby said. Seward finished ninth in the girls team standings.<\/p>\n<p>Jacoby, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/mystery-alaska-lydia-jacoby-becomes-first-swimmer-from-state-to-make-u-s-olympic-team\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">first Alaskan to swim for the United States<\/a> at the Olympics, will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/junior-national-champion-lydia-jacoby-verbally-commits-to-texas-for-fall-of-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">attend the University of Texas next year<\/a>. She has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/rising-alaskan-star-lydia-jacoby-confident-ready-to-contend-at-olympic-trials\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">improved rapidly over the last year<\/a>, cashing in that explosion onto first the national then international scene into a gold medal.<\/p>\n<p>But she wasn\u2019t the only Olympian at the ASAA championships. <strong>Jillian Crooks<\/strong> swam for the Cayman Islands at the Tokyo Olympics. The 15-year-old ended up at Homer High School this year, where a family friend is the coach.
