The men won a much closer meet by a 155.5-138.5 margin.<\/p>\n<p>Transom did the job in the sprints. The Australian Pac-12 champ won the 200 freestyle in 1:47.67. She added the crown in the 50 free in 23.04 seconds, just .05 up on teammate <strong>Marta Ciesla<\/strong> with <strong>Kaitlyn Dobler<\/strong> third. Transom again was ahead of Cielsa in the 100, this time with a 49.10 result that was more than 1.3 seconds quicker.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/pac-12-swimming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pac-12 Swimming<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Transom also led off the Trojans\u2019 winning 400 free relay, pairing with Ciesla, Dobler and <strong>Anicka Delgado.<\/strong> The latter three won the 200 medley relay with <strong>Calypso Sheridan<\/strong> leading off.<\/p>\n<p>Delgado won the 100 butterfly and was third in the 200 free. Dobler won the 100 breast in a 1-2 with <strong>Isabelle Odgers,<\/strong> who then won the 200 breast in a 1-2 with Sheridan. Sheridan, in turn, won the 200 IM in 2:00.08, just ahead of Odgers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jade Hannah<\/strong> won the 100 backstroke in 53.98, leading a 1-2-3 finish with <strong>Caroline Famous<\/strong> and <strong>Aela Janvier.<\/strong> Hannah and Janvier each broke two minutes in a 1-2 finish in the 200 back. <strong>Marlene Kahler<\/strong> won the 500 free for the Trojans.<\/p>\n<p>Things started strong for Arizona State, with <strong>Emma Nordin<\/strong> and <strong>Erica Laning<\/strong> taking the top two spots in the 1,000 free. Nordin was second in the 500 free, a spot ahead of <strong>Molly Batchelor,<\/strong> who finished second in the 200 free. In arguably the race of the day, <strong>Lindsay Looney<\/strong> bested Sheridan in the 200 fly, her time of 1:58.89 just .07 quicker than the Northwestern transfer.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thesundevils.com\/news\/2021\/11\/6\/mens-swimming-diving-no-13-22-sun-devil-swimming-fall-at-home-to-usc.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">On the men\u2019s side<\/a>, the teams split the events seven each, but USC had the superior depth. It started in breaststroke, where USC took the top four places at both distances. <strong>Trent Pellini<\/strong> won the 100 breast in 53.43 with teammate <strong>Ben Dillard<\/strong> second. Dillard led the parade in the 200 breast and was also second in the 200 IM.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Victor Johansson<\/strong> took home decisive wins in the 1,000 free (9:18.41) and 500 free (4:28.97). <strong>Nicola Miljenic<\/strong> (19.90) and <strong>Artem Selin<\/strong> (19.98) went 1-2 in the 50 free. Those two were the back half of the winning 200 medley relay behind Pellini and <strong>Evangelos Makrygiannis.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Arizona State got an impressive debut from <strong>Leon Marchand,<\/strong> the French Olympian swimming in his first college meet. He won all three of his individual events in fine fashion. He was quickest in the 200 fly in 1:43.76. He bested the field in the 200 back with a 1:44.62. And he was also quickest in the 200 IM with a 1:43.69.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Grant House<\/strong> was dominant again, winning the 200 free (1:34.52) and 100 free (43.33). The latter was a 1-2 with Carter Swift. The Sun Devils picked up big points in butterfly, with <strong>Alexander Colson<\/strong> leading a 1-2-3 in the 100. He won in 47.78, followed perfectly by <strong>Cody Bybee<\/strong> (47.79) and <strong>Evan Carlson<\/strong> (47.80). Colson was second to Marchand in the 200 fly. <strong>Jack Dolan<\/strong> won the 100 back and teamed with Swift, House (42.72) and Carlson to win the 400 free relay.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Laticia Transom Leads USC to Arizona State Sweep;
