NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of Kentucky has shown no signs of stopping on the recruiting trail, recently picking up yet another verbal for the Wildcats’ Class of 2027 from U.S. Open qualifier\u00a0Lillie Boggs\u00a0<\/strong>of Chattanooga, Tennessee.<\/p>\n

She will join\u00a0Libby Grether<\/strong><\/a>, Megan Hutchins<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Elizabeth Tilt<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Cassie Howell<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Paige Housman<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Madi McGlothen<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>in Lexington at the start of the 2023-24 season.<\/p>\n

She told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I am extremely happy to announce my commitment to the University of Kentucky to further my academic and athletic career! I want to thank my family, coaches, teammates, and friends for supporting me throughout my journey. Also, thank you to all of the UK coaches and team for giving me this amazing opportunity. So excited for what\u2019s to come! GO CATS!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Boggs, who does her club swimming with Baylor Swim Club, most recently competed at the Southeastern Long Course Championships where she won the 200m breast and collected bronze in the 200m IM and 1500m free. She also had six top-5 finishes, including a pair of victories, at the Southeastern Senior Championships back in February.<\/p>\n

Currently a junior at the Baylor School, Boggs is already a four-time individual Tennessee State Championship finalist. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American\u00a0won the 500 free and placed fifth in the 200 IM as a sophomore while taking third in both of those events during her freshman season.<\/p>\n
