NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of Alabama has secured another verbal commitment for their growing Class of 2027 from U.S. Open qualifier\u00a0Sydney Blackhurst\u00a0<\/strong>out of Gilbert, Arizona.<\/p>\n

She will join Laurel Blase<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>of Woodstock, Georgia, in Tuscaloosa at the start of the 2023-24 season.<\/p>\n

She told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I am beyond excited to announce that I will be continuing my academic and swimming careers at the University of Alabama! A huge thank you to all my family, friends, and coaches who made this all possible. ROLL TIDE!!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A talented breaststroker, Blackhurst trains with Scottsdale Aquatics Club and most recently earned bronze in the 100m breast at Austin Sectionals this past summer after earning best times in all of her events at the TYR 18&U Spring Cup – Des Moines in the spring. She also had a pair of top-6 finishes at Four Corner Sectionals in March and collected silver in the 200 breast and bronze in the 100 breast at Arizona Seniors.<\/p>\n
