Burke Aquatic Center.<\/p>\n<p>The meet started with the Wolverines winning the 200-yard medley relay with the quartet of <strong>Wyatt Davis, Will Chan, Gal Groumi<\/strong> and <strong>Cam Peel<\/strong> touching the wall in 1:24.75 for an NCAA &#8216;B&#8217; cut.<\/p>\n<p>From there, Michigan won seven more events with <strong>Jared Daigle<\/strong> and <strong>Patrick Callan<\/strong> finishing the day as two-time winners. Daigle took both the 200-yard butterfly (1:46.56) and 400-yard IM (3:48.25) with NCAA &#8216;B&#8217; cut times, while Callan claimed wins in the 200-yard freestyle (1:35.04) and 500-yard freestyle (4:21.26).<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/mgoblue.com\/documents\/2021\/11\/5\/20211105_sd_purdue_triple_dual.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Complete Results<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/category\/college\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">More college news<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sophomore <strong>Jake Mitchell<\/strong> won the 1,000-yard freestyle, while Chan added a victory in the 200-yard butterfly (1:44.31). Freshman<strong> Gal Groumi<\/strong> touched the wall first in the 200-yard butterfly, winning with a NCAA &#8216;B&#8217; time of 1:44.31. Senior captain <strong>AJ Bornstein<\/strong> also brought home a victory with a 1:57.00 in the 200-yard breaststroke.<\/p>\n<p>The Michigan women took down No. 20-ranked Missouri 215-85 and outpacing host Purdue 232-68 on Friday afternoon (Nov. 5).<\/p>\n<p>The Wolverines (3-0) started the day by turning in an NCAA &#8216;A&#8217; time in the 200-yard medley relay, as the combination of <strong>Maggie MacNeil, Letitia Sim, Olivia Carter<\/strong> and <strong>Lindsay Flynn<\/strong> topped the competition by more than two seconds, touching the wall in 1:36.25.<\/p>\n<p>Michigan won 13 events in total, as <strong>Kathryn Ackerman<\/strong> led the way with wins in the 500-yard (4:42.58) and 200-yard (1:46.16) freestyles. <strong>Kaitlynn Sims<\/strong> won the 1,000-yard freestyle (9:42.66), MacNeil took the 100-yard backstroke with an NCAA &#8216;B&#8217; cut (51.46) and Carter touched first in both the 200-yard IM (1:57.44) and 200-yard butterfly (1:55.91).<\/p>\n<p>Senior <strong>Allie Klein<\/strong> won the 3-meter dive with a score of 314.55 and took second in the 1-meter at 274.73.<\/p>\n<p>The freshman duo of Sim and Flynn saw individual success as well, as Sim won the 100-yard breaststroke (59.77) and 200-yard backstroke (2:10.06), while Flynn finished the 100 freestyle in 48.70.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mariella Venter<\/strong> led the Wolverines to a victory in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:56.49, and the Maize and Blue wrapped up a successful trip with a narrow victory in the 400-yard freestyle relay as Flynn, <strong>Megan Glass, Abbey Ketslakh<\/strong> and <strong>Claire Newman<\/strong> touched the wall in 3:17.29.<\/p>\n<p>The Wolverines have a quick turnaround before their next meet, welcoming Grand Valley State to Canham Natatorium on Saturday (Nov. 6) at 10:30 a.m. for the <strong>Ian Miskelley<\/strong> Memorial Meet.<\/p>\n<p>Purdue&#8217;s <strong>Nikola Acin<\/strong>\u00a0swept the freestyle sprints with a pair (19.53, 43.34) of NCAA provisional qualifying times (B Cuts), but he also helped provide the fireworks that led to the exciting final moments of the meet. The Olympian roared through his anchor leg of the 400 free relay, with his split of 42.30 \u2013 easily the best in the event \u2013 allowing the Boilermakers to leapfrog Michigan for runner-up honors. Missouri (2:53.23), Purdue (2:53.59) and Michigan (2:53.73) all finished with a half-second of each other as the Tigers hung on for the victory.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Emily (Bretscher) Pfeiffer, Jordan Rzepk<\/strong>a and <strong>Tyler Downs<\/strong> joined A\u0107in as event winners for the Boilermakers. Pfeiffer and Rzepka were victorious on 1-meter and Downs won on 3-meter by 61.92 points.<\/p>\n<p>A\u0107in teamed with <strong>Nick Sherman, Brady Samuels<\/strong> and <strong>Idris Muhammad<\/strong> for the fourth-fastest time (2:53.59) in program history.
