She\u2019s seeded third in the women\u2019s 100 individual medley, behind Belarus\u2019s <strong>Anastasiya Shkurdai<\/strong> and Russia\u2019s <strong>Maria Kameneva.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sweden is also entered in the women\u2019s 200 free and 200 medley relays and the mixed 200 free and 200 medley relays.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/2021-len-short-course-european-championships-psych-sheets\/international-elite\/2021\/November\/2?rtn=%2Fresults%2Fall\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Short-Course European Championships Psych Sheets<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The 50 free promises to be a particularly intriguing race, with <strong>Kasia Wasick<\/strong> second and Kameneva third.<\/p>\n<p>On the men\u2019s side, Hungary\u2019s <strong>Kristof Milak<\/strong> is entered in five individual events. He\u2019s the top seed in the men\u2019s 100 fly and second to <strong>Tomoe Hvas<\/strong> in the 200 fly. He\u2019s also swimming the 50 back, where he\u2019s seeded fourth behind the Russian top pairing of <strong>Kliment Kolesnikov<\/strong> and <strong>Mark Nikolaev.<\/strong> He\u2019s also entered in the 100 free and 200 free.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s Milak&#8217;s first short-course championships and the Olympic 200 fly champion rarely races in the 25m pool so his entry times are from long-course events.<\/p>\n<p>Also busy is Italy\u2019s <strong>Thomas Ceccon,<\/strong> who is entered in the 100 IM, 200 IM, 100 back, 50 fly and 100 free. The 100 free is a deep event, attracting the likes of Ceccon, Milak, Kolesnikov, <strong>Emre Sakci<\/strong> and <strong>Szebasztian Szabo,<\/strong> in addition to the usual sprinters.<\/p>\n<p>Among said sprinters is <strong>David Popovici.<\/strong> The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/david-popovici-the-boy-who-might-be-king-full-article\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Romanian wunderkind<\/a> will swim the 200 free (seeded 16th), 100 free (seeded 21st) and 400 free (seeded 35th).<\/p>\n<p>Absent among the Short-Course European Championships entries are a number of mainstays of the field, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/kristof-milak-leads-13-strong-hungary-team-for-european-sc-hosszu-and-kapas-absent\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">including<\/a> <strong>Florent Manaudou<\/strong> and <strong>Katinka Hosszu<\/strong>. Great Britain also isn\u2019t sending a delegation to the meet, off their stellar performance at the Tokyo Olympics. Sjostrom and <strong>Simona Quadarella<\/strong> of Italy are the only women\u2019s Olympic medalists from Tokyo in the field, with <strong>Sarah Kohler<\/strong> and <strong>Pernille Blume<\/strong> not entered.<\/p>\n<p>On the men\u2019s side, <strong>Gregorio Paltrinieri<\/strong> and <strong>Florian Wellbrock<\/strong> are entered in the distance events, but fellow Olympic medalist <strong>Mykhalio Romanchuk<\/strong> is not. The Tokyo breaststroke depth, via <strong>Arno Kamminga<\/strong> and <strong>Nicolo Martinenghi,<\/strong> is represented, though <strong>Matti Mattson<\/strong> of Finland is absent. <strong>Evgeny Rylov,<\/strong> in the two backstroke events and 50 free, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/kliment-kolesnikov-on-chase-for-backstroke-world-records-at-world-cup-in-kazan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">joins his compatriot<\/a> Kolesnikov. Neither of Switzerland\u2019s summer medalists, <strong>Noe Ponti<\/strong> and <strong>Jeremy Desplanches,<\/strong> are entered.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sarah Sjostrom
