NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill has received another verbal commitment for the fall of 2023 from U.S. Open qualifier Ava Muzzy\u00a0<\/strong>of Roanoke, Va.<\/p>\n

Her older sister,\u00a0Emma Muzzy<\/strong>, is currently a senior at NC State where she is an ACC champion.<\/p>\n

She will join Maren Conze<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>of Garrett Park, Maryland, as a member of the Tar Heels’ Class of 2027.<\/p>\n

She told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I\u2019m so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at The University of North Carolina! Thank you to my family, coaches, and teammates for getting me to this point. Go Heels”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Muzzy, who does her club swimming with Virginia Gators under head coach\u00a0Ned Skinner<\/strong>, most recently placed 14th in the 200m breast and 15th in the 100m breast at the Speedo Summer East Championships after placing fourth in the 200m IM at Virginia LCM Seniors.<\/p>\n

Muzzy has also been tabbed the Virginia Swimming Age Group Swimmer of the Year four times.<\/p>\n
