NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of Louisville has received its first early verbal commitment for the men’s side from Junior National qualifier\u00a0Grant Gooding\u00a0<\/strong>of Upper Arlington, Ohio, for the 2023-24 season and beyond.<\/p>\n

He told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“Thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Louisville, I want to thank my coaches, family, friends and teammates for this great opportunity, Go Cards”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Gooding trains with Upper Arlington Swim Club and most recently earned four best times at Richmond Futures where his highest finish was a 19th-place showing in the 50m free. He also collected five silver medals at Ohio LCM Seniors this past summer before finaling in four events at Geneva Sectionals.<\/p>\n

Currently a junior at Upper Arlington High School, Gooding is already a four-time individual Ohio State Championship finalist. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American\u00a0earned silver in the 100 breast and bronze in the 200 IM as a sophomore while taking sixth and ninth, respectively, in those events during his freshman season.<\/p>\n
