NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>After already scoring four verbal commitments on the women’s side, the University of Kentucky men’s program has landed its first one for the fall of 2023 from U.S. Open qualifier Isaac Fleig<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

He told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I’m excited to announce\u00a0my verbal commitment to continue my swimming and academic career at the University of Kentucky. A special thanks goes to my coaches, teammates, and parents who have pushed me to become the swimmer I am today. Go CATS!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Currently training with Mission Viejo Nadadores, Fleig had a great showing at the Speedo Summer West Championships where he placed eighth in the 1500m free, ninth in the 400m IM, and 11th in both the 200m fly and 800m free. Back in March, he earned six best times at the NCSA Championships en route to taking sixth in the mile with four additional top-16 finishes.<\/p>\n

Also competing for Cedarburg High School when he lived in Wisconsin, Fleig won the 200 IM and 500 free at the Wisconsin DI State Championships as a sophomore while taking second and first, respectively, in those events during his freshman season.<\/p>\n
