NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>U.S. Open qualifier\u00a0Reid Miller\u00a0<\/strong>of Charlotte, North Carolina, has opted to remain in state for his college career after verbally committing to the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill for the fall of 2022.<\/p>\n

He will join\u00a0Hunter Lund<\/strong><\/a>, Spencer Freeman<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Jack Guenther<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Tyler Roberton<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Patrick Sleater<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Tanner Jones<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>as a member of the Tar Heels\u2019 Class of 2026.<\/p>\n

He told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I am beyond excited and honored to annouce that I have committed to continue my academic and swim career at the University of North Carolina. A special thank you to my family, friends, coaches, and anyone who has helped me get to where I am today. #goheels”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Miller does his club swimming with SwimMAC Carolina and most recently raced five events at the Speedo Summer East Championships after earning two best times at Greensboro Sectionals this past summer. He had a great meet at the 18&U Winter Championships in December, picking up best times in all of his events and posting four top-8 finishes, including a runner-up showing in the 200 free.<\/p>\n
