The Berlin stop has regularly produced swift times, and with the likes of Australians <strong>Kyle Chalmers<\/strong> and <strong>Emma McKeon<\/strong> and Canadians <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/olympics-its-a-magical-golden-moment-for-canadian-maggie-macneil-in-100-butterfly\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Maggie MacNeil<\/strong><\/a> and <strong>Kylie Masse<\/strong> set to compete, continued speed is likely.<\/p>\n<p>Chalmers and McKeon have most recently been competing in the third season of the International Swimming League for the London Roar. With the regular season over and the playoffs not starting until November, the Aussies decided to stay in Europe and race in the first World Cup meet of the campaign.<\/p>\n<p>The United States will have nearly 50 athletes in action, including more than 40 junior athletes who were selected to compete. <strong>Erin<\/strong> <strong>Gemmell<\/strong> and <strong>Leah Hayes<\/strong> are among the junior-level stars slated to compete, and who will have the chance to gain experience racing at the international level. Four members of the U.S. National Team \u2013 <strong>Tom Shields<\/strong>, <strong>Lydia Jacoby<\/strong>, <strong>Blake Pieroni<\/strong> and <strong>Linnea Mack<\/strong> \u2013 will also race and serve as mentors to the youngsters. Jacoby will be racing for the first time since she won gold in Tokyo in the 100-meter breaststroke, where she upset defending champion and countrywoman <strong>Lilly King<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The host nation will be headlined by Florian Wellbrock, the champion in the open-water 10k event and bronze medalist in the 1500 freestyle from the Olympic Games in Tokyo last summer. Dutch breaststroke standout Arno Kamminga is also expected to compete.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fina.org\/competitions\/1380\/fina-swimming-world-cup-2021\/athletes?gender=&amp;countryId=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Athlete List<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kyle Chalmers Among Headliners at World Cup Stop in Berlin;
