Women\u2019s 100 Freestyle<\/strong><\/p>\nThe final day of the ISL Match 11 kicked off with the women\u2019s 100 free.<\/p>\n
Team Iron got off to a strong start as it looks to stay in the top two, and tries to overtake the Trident for the top spot in the meet. Iron went 1-3 in the first event of the day.<\/p>\n
Ranomi Kromowidjojo<\/strong> won the race in 51.85 and teammate Barbara Seemanova<\/strong> was third in 52.31 to give Team Iron 15 points in the event.<\/p>\nThe DC Trident, who led the meet after day one, had a good start as well with Anna Hopkin<\/strong> taking second (51.99) and Isabella Hindley<\/strong> finishing fourth (52.58).<\/p>\nTokyo\u2019s Catie DeLoof<\/strong> was fifth in 52.68.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
Men\u2019s 100 Freestyle<\/strong><\/p>\nThe DC Trident claimed nine more quick points with the win by Aleksandr Shchegolev<\/strong> in the men\u2019s 100 free. He won the race in 46.66.<\/p>\nThe New York Breakers, currently last and needing a big day in hopes of advancing, got a good performance in the event, a 2-3 finish. Matt Temple<\/strong> was second in 46.78, while Stan Pijnenburg<\/strong> was third in 46.93.<\/p>\nTokyo went 4-5 with Nandor Nameth<\/strong> (46.96) and Pedro Spajari<\/strong> (47.25).<\/p>\nTeam Scores after the first two events:<\/strong><\/p>\n1. Women\u2019s 200 Butterfly<\/strong><\/p>\nThe New York Breakers got their first win of the day in the women’s 200 fly.<\/p>\n
Svetlana Chimrova<\/strong> took the top spot in 2:03.76 to hold off Team Iron\u2019s Alys Thomas<\/strong> (2:04.7).<\/p>\nTokyo took 3-4 with Yui Ohashi<\/strong> (2:06.28) and Leah Gingrich<\/strong> (2:06.59).<\/p>\nDC\u2019s Zsuzsanna Jakabos<\/strong> was fifth in 2:07.02.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
Men\u2019s 200 Butterfly<\/strong><\/p>\nThe Tokyo Frog Kings got a much-needed win in the men\u2019s 200 fly as Daiya Seto<\/strong> touched the wall first in 1:51.29 to give the team 10 points.<\/p>\nThe DC Trident went 2-3 for a total of 13 in the event with Camden Murphy<\/strong> taking second in 1:51.93 and Zach Harting<\/strong> just behind at 1:52.60.<\/p>\nNew York\u2019s Philip Heintz<\/strong> was fourth in 1:52.91.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
Women\u2019s 100 Backstroke<\/strong><\/p>\nThe DC Trident put together a dominating performance in the women\u2019s 100 backstroke with a 1-2 finish, leading to 16 points.<\/p>\n
Ali DeLoof<\/strong> won the race in 56.83 to finish ahead of teammate Linnea Mack<\/strong> (57.11).<\/p>\nTokyo\u2019s Catie DeLoof<\/strong> finished third 57.27, holding off New York\u2019s Paulina Peda<\/strong> (57.47).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
Men\u2019s 100 Backstroke<\/strong><\/p>\nThe DC Trident got back-to-back ISL event wins, sweeping the 100 backers events. Mark Nikolaev<\/strong> won the men\u2019s race in 49.65 to hold off a duo of Team Iron swimmers.<\/p>\nRobert Glinta<\/strong> was second in 49.71, followed by teammate Lorenzo Mora<\/strong> (50.44).<\/p>\nThe DC Trident got a fourth-place finish from Jacob Pebley<\/strong> in 50.65 , making it 14 points for DC in the event.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
Women\u2019s 100 IM<\/strong><\/p>\nTeam Iron posted another victory in the 100 IM as Costanza Cocconcelli<\/strong> won the race in 58.54.<\/p>\nThe New York Breakers went 2-3 with Alicja Tchorz<\/strong> (58.77) and Abbie Wood<\/strong> (58.83).<\/p>\nTokyo\u2019s Chihiro Igarashi<\/strong> took fifth in 58.89.<\/p>\nDC\u2019s best finish was Klaudia Nazieblo<\/strong> in fifth at 59.76, giving other teams a slight opening as they chase the Trident.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
Men\u2019s 100 IM<\/strong><\/p>\nTeam Iron made it two ISL wins in a row as Marco Orsi<\/strong> touched the wall first in the men\u2019s 100 IM. He won the race in 51.62, leading an important 1-3 finish for Team Iron.<\/p>\nLeonardo Santos<\/strong> finished third in 52.34, giving Team Iron 15 points in the event.<\/p>\nDC\u2019s Andreas Vazaios<\/strong> finished second in 51.88, while teammate Tommy Cope<\/strong> was fifth (53.05), for 11 Trident points.<\/p>\nNew York\u2019s Joe Litchfield<\/strong> finished fourth in 52.78.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
Women\u2019s 100 Breaststroke<\/strong><\/p>\nMolly Renshaw<\/strong> of the New York Breakers used a strong start and solid back-half to winch 100 breaststroke. She touched the wall in 1:04.84, the lone swimmer to break 1:05 in the race.<\/p>\nTokyo\u2019s Kanako Watanabe<\/strong> finished second in 1:05.02, while teammate Miranda Tucker<\/strong> was fourth (1:05.25).<\/p>\nTeam Iron\u2019s Ida Hulkko<\/strong> was third in 1:05.19. Yasuhiro Koseki<\/strong> won the race in 56.54 ahead of teammate Alessandro Pinzuti <\/strong>(57.20).<\/p>\nDC\u2019s Cody Miller<\/strong> was third in 57.39, ahead of Iron\u2019s Bernhard Reitshammer<\/strong> (57.64) and Erik Persson<\/strong> (58.00).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
Women\u2019s 50 Butterfly<\/strong><\/p>\nTeam Iron\u2019s Ranomi Kromowidjojo<\/strong> earned her second win of the day, leading a 1-2 Iron finish in the 50 butterfly. Women\u2019s 50 Breaststroke Skins<\/strong><\/p>\nTokyo\u2019s Miranda Tucker<\/strong> surged to victory in the 50 breaststroke sins, scoring a stunning 30 points for the Frog Kings.<\/p>\nIn the final, Tucker finished in 30.34 to hold off Team Iron\u2019s Ida Hulkko<\/strong> (31.21).<\/p>\nIn the semifinals, it was Tucker (30.02), Hulkko (30.12), Iron’s Jenna Strauch<\/strong> (30.76) and New York\u2019s Sarah Vasey<\/strong> (30.88).<\/p>\nIn the first round, it was Hulkko first in 29.72, ahead of Tucker (29.96), while Strauch and Vasey tied at 30.19.<\/p>\n
