DURHAM, North Carolina, January 28. ONLY weeks remain until the ACC Swimming and Diving Championships get underway in Greensboro, and the meets figure to be among the most competitive conference championships in the country. The University of Virginia has won five straight ACC titles for both the women and the men, but North Carolina is gunning for the Cavaliers in 2014.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, the two schools engaged in a pair of tight dual meets in Chapel Hill, both of which came down to the last relay. The Tar Heels took the men’s meet from their rivals to the north, while Virginia won the women’s just a day after both teams started off their weekend in the Triangle Area with a sweep of Duke in nearby Durham.<\/p>\n
While in Durham, new Virginia head coach Augie Busch took the time to sit down with Swimming World contributor David Rieder to discuss his first year coaching in Charlottesville. Busch discussed his two years as head coach of the University of Houston, his impression of the ACC so far, and some of the top performers from the first few months of the season.<\/p>\n

The women’s meet (which also includes men’s diving) runs February 19-22, while the men’s meet will take place February 26-March 1. Both will be held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.<\/p>\n
