NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of Notre Dame has officially begun their Class of 2027 recruiting after picking up an in-state verbal commitment from Meghan Christman\u00a0<\/strong>of Carmel, Indiana.<\/p>\n

She’ll overlap two seasons with her older sister, Madelyn<\/strong>\u00a0Christman<\/strong><\/a>, who is currently a freshman on the Fighting Irish’s roster.<\/p>\n

She told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I am very excited and humbled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming careers at the University of Notre Dame! So grateful for my family, friends, and coaches for all of their support in getting me to this point. Can\u2019t wait to be Irish!!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A talented sprint freestyler, Christman trains year-round with Carmel Swim Club and most recently finished 17th in the 50m free at the Speedo Summer East Championships after taking fifth in the 200m IM and seventh in the 50m free at Indiana Long Course Seniors.<\/p>\n

At Indianapolis Sectionals back in March, she earned five lifetime bests while racing to fifth in the 50m free and sixth in the 100m free.<\/p>\n
