NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of Texas has officially entered the Class of 2027 recruiting game, recently snagging a verbal pledge for 2023 from Olympic Trials semi-finalist Berit Berglund\u00a0<\/strong>of Carmel, Indiana.<\/p>\n

Berglund was recently named<\/a> to the USA Swimming National Junior Team.<\/p>\n

Regarding her commitment, she said:<\/p>\n

\u201cI am thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Texas! A huge thank you to my family, friends, and coaches who have supported me throughout this process and my entire swimming career! HOOK \u2018EM HORNS????? #hookem\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A talented backstroker and freestyler, Berglund does her club swimming with\u00a0Chris Plumb\u00a0<\/strong>at Carmel Swim Club. She finished 16th in the 100m back at Wave II of Olympic Trials after clocking in a personal best of 1:00.96 during prelims.<\/p>\n

Back in March, she won the 100 back at Indianapolis Sectionals. She also finished 11th in that event at Juniors East in 2019.<\/p>\n
