Nelson won the women\u2019s 100-meter individual medley at ISL Match 7<\/a> on Friday in 57.90 seconds. That\u2019s the fastest time in the league this season, and it slices four-hundredths of a second off the American record<\/a> set by Melanie Margalis<\/strong> in 2020.<\/p>\n

Nelson went out in 26.08 seconds, the fastest in the field. She was the fourth-fastest coming home in 31.82. Margalis, when she set the record for the Condors in Match 4 of the 2020 season<\/a>, was out in 26.89 and came back in 31.05, almost polar opposite approaches to the race.<\/p>\n

Nelson has been circling the record for a while. She went 57.99 her last time out to buzz close to Margalis\u2019 record. She\u2019s four-for-four in the 100 IM this season.<\/p>\n

The win is Nelson\u2019s second of ISL Match 7, to complement the 200 backstroke. She\u2019s won the 200 back three times this season and claimed the backstroke skins in Match 2. She\u2019s slated for butterfly skins later in Match 7.
