NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The United States Military Academy has received a new verbal commitment for the fall of 2022 from\u00a0Junior National qualifier\u00a0Ben Vorthmann\u00a0<\/strong>of Lawrence, Kansas.<\/p>\n

He will join Las Vegas, Nevada native\u00a0Brice Barrieault<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>as a member of the Black Knights’ Class of 2026.<\/p>\n

He told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I am excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim, study, and serve my country at the United States Military Academy. I am really looking forward to swimming for Coach Brandt and being a part of his plans for the team. Thank you to my coaches, teammates, and family for always supporting me. Go Army! Beat Navy!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A talented sprint freestyle, Vorthmann does his club swimming with Lawrence Aquahawks and most recently earned bronze in the 50m free at West Fargo Futures where he also took sixth in the 100m free. He also posted three top-5 finishes at the 18&U Winter Championships – Lees Summit back in December.<\/p>\n
