It was the first of six world records during the session.<\/p>\n<p>In the men\u2019s 100 backstroke S7 class, Ukraine\u2019s <strong>Andreii Trusov<\/strong> broke the world record to win the gold medal in 1:08.14. It was more than enough to hold off Argentina\u2019s<strong> Pipo Carlomagno<\/strong> (1:08.83) and Israel\u2019s <strong>Mark Malyar<\/strong> (1:10.88).<\/p>\n<p>In the men\u2019s 200 freestyle S4 class, <strong>Ami Omer Dadaon<\/strong> of Israel broke his own world record to claim the gold medal. He touched the wall in 2:44.84, crushing his previous world record of 2:50.92 set in June. Japan\u2019s <strong>Takayuki Suzuki<\/strong> claimed the silver in 2:55.15 and Russian Paralympic Committee\u2019s <strong>Roman Zhdanov<\/strong> took the bronze (2:58.48).<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/paralympic-games-day-6-women-mallory-weggeman-hannah-aspden-claim-gold-for-team-usa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Day 6 women&#8217;s recap<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In the men\u2019s 50 backstroke S5, China swept the podium, including a world record by gold medalist<strong> Zheng Tao<\/strong>, who won in 32.42, breaking his mark set in June by six hundredths of a second. <strong>Ruan Jingsong<\/strong> won the silver medal in 32.97 and <strong>Wang<\/strong> <strong>Lichao<\/strong> took the bronze (33.38).<\/p>\n<p>Another world record was broke in the 200 IM SM11 class as <strong>Rogier Dorsman<\/strong> of the Netherlands won gold in 2:10.02, breaking his own world record set in June (2:20.40). Ukraine\u2019s <strong>Mykhailo Serbin<\/strong> took the silver (2:27.97) and Japan\u2019s <strong>Ucho Tomita<\/strong> won the bronze (2:28.44).<\/p>\n<p>In the 100 backstroke S9, Russian Paralympic Committee\u2019s <strong>Bogdan Mozgovi<\/strong> broke the Paralympic record to win gold in 1:01.65. Belarus\u2019 <strong>Yahor Schalkanau<\/strong> took the silver in 1:01.96 and Australia\u2019s <strong>Timothy Hodge<\/strong> earned the bronze in 1:01.16.<\/p>\n<p>In the men\u2019s 50 butterfly S6, <strong>Wang Jingang<\/strong> won the gold medal in 30.81, ahead of teammate <strong>Jia Hongguang<\/strong> (31.54) and Colombia\u2019s<strong> Nelson Crispin Corzo<\/strong> (31.77), who claimed the bronze.<\/p>\n<p>Belarus\u2019<strong> Ihar Boki<\/strong> earned another gold, this time in the 200 IM SM13 class. He touched the wall in 2:02.70, breaking his own world record. France\u2019s <strong>Alex Portal<\/strong> took the silver (2:09.92) and<strong> Thomas van Wanrooij<\/strong> of the Netherlands earned the bronze (2:10.79).<\/p>\n<p>Australia\u2019s 4&#215;100 freestyle relay closed the session with a world record, finishing in 3:44.31 to break Italy\u2019s mark set in June.
