Krypak engaged in a battle with Australia\u2019s <strong>Rowan Crothers<\/strong> in the S10 100-meter freestyle and ultimately came away with the gold medal, thanks to a swim of 50.64. Crothers earned the silver medal in 51.37, followed by bronze medalist <strong>Stefano Raimondi<\/strong> of Italy in 51.45. Krypak\u2019s time set a world record, as he was faster than the previous standard of 50.87, set in 2010 by <strong>Andre Brasil<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Ukraine\u2019s <strong>Yevhenii Bohodaiko<\/strong> repeated as champion of the SB6 100 breaststroke by a slim margin, as he went 1:20.13 to edge Colombia\u2019s <strong>Nelson Crispin Corzo<\/strong> (1:20.19). Bohodaiko is the world-record holder in the event and also won gold at the 2016 Paralympics in Rio.<\/p>\n<p>Adding to the success of the Ukraine was <strong>Mykhailo Serbin<\/strong>, who led a sweep of the top two positions for his nation in the S11 100 backstroke. Serbin covered the event in 1:08.63 and was followed to the wall by countryman <strong>Viktor Smyrnov<\/strong> (1:09.36). Meanwhile, Ukraine\u2019s <strong>Denys Dubrov<\/strong> was the gold medalist in the SM8 200 individual medley.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/great-britain-wins-three-gold-medals-on-first-night-of-world-para-swimming-championships-in-london\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Great Britain<\/a>\u2019s mixed 400 freestyle relay set a world record as the foursome of <strong>Reece Dunn<\/strong>, <strong>Bethany Firth<\/strong>, <strong>Jessica-Jane Applegate<\/strong> and <strong>Jordan Catchpole<\/strong> combined for a time of 3:40.63 to easily finish ahead of silver medalist Australia. Dunn was an impressive 51.15 on the leadoff leg.<\/p>\n<p>Another world record went down in the SM4 150 individual medley where Russia\u2019s <strong>Roman Zhdanov<\/strong> was timed in 2:21.17, an effort that took more than a second off Zhdanov\u2019s prior world record. In the SM3 150 individual medley, Mexico\u2019s <strong>Jesus Hernandez<\/strong> topped the competition by more than five seconds, with Australia\u2019s <strong>Ahmed Kelly<\/strong> and <strong>Grant Patterson<\/strong> taking silver and bronze.<\/p>\n<p>In the SB5 100 breaststroke, Russia\u2019s <strong>Andrei Granichka<\/strong> set a world record of 1:25.13.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Paralympic Games (Day 4 Men): Great Britain Blasts WR in Mixed Freestyle Relay;
