Kaitlyn Dobler<\/strong> put together a strong 100 breaststroke at the 2021 Speedo Summer Championships West meet in Irvine, California, on Friday.<\/p>\n

The 19-year-old Trojan Aquatics swimmers won the 100 breaststroke in 1:07.46 to hol doff Denver\u2019s Emma Weber<\/strong> (1:07.62).<\/p>\n

They were the only swimmers in the event to break a 1:08.<\/p>\n

The Speedo Summer Championships 100 backstroke was a battle of the young teens. Elmbrook Swim Club\u2019s Maggie Wanezek<\/strong>, 15, won the 100 backstroke in 1:00.84, just four hundredths ahead of Novaquatics\u2019 Teagon O\u2019Dell<\/strong>, 14, who finished in 1:00.88.<\/p>\n

The National Age Group Record for 13-14 is 1:00.26 set by Regan Smith<\/strong> in 2016. O’Dell has the fifth-fastest time in history in that age group.<\/p>\n

In the men\u2019s 100 breaststroke, Team Rebel\u2019s AJ Pouch<\/strong> touched the wall first in 1:00.63.<\/p>\n

Austin Swim Club\u2019s Jillian Cox<\/strong>, 16, won the 400 freestyle in 4:13.09, more than a second ahead of 13-year-old Kayla Han<\/strong> of La Mirada Armada (4:14.52).<\/p>\n

Longhorn Aquatic\u2019s David Johnston<\/strong> won the men\u2019s 400 free in 3:51.17. Ziyad Saleem <\/strong>won the men\u2019s backstroke in 55.27.<\/p>\n

California Aquatic’s 800 free relay won in 7:20.97 behind Dare Rose, Destin Lasco, Dylan Hawk<\/strong> and Sean Grieshop<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
