Mackenzie Looze<\/strong> continued her strong meet at the 2021 Speedo Summer Championships in Greensboro.<\/p>\n

Indiana\u2019s Looze won the 100 breaststroke in 1:08.42 to hold off Ohio State\u2019s trio of Josie Panitz<\/strong> (1:08.86), Hannah Bach<\/strong> (1:08.90) and Leah Baker<\/strong> (1:10.33).<\/p>\n

The men\u2019s 100 breaststroke was even closer as Cooper Van Der Laan<\/strong> held off two of Club Wolverine\u2019s best. Van Der Laan won the race in 1:00.20, ahead of Tommy Cope<\/strong> (1:00.30) and Charlie Swanson<\/strong> (1:00.81). Pitt\u2019s Josh Matheny<\/strong> followed in 1:00.91.<\/p>\n

In the women\u2019s 100 backstroke, Ali DeLoof<\/strong> went sub-minute to win in 59.96, finishing just ahead of sister Gabby DeLoof<\/strong> (1:00.44).<\/p>\n

The men’s other big race was the 800 free relay that saw SwimMAC break the 15-18 national age group record with a 7:22.23.. Tim Connery led off the race with a 1:47.96, which put him in the top 15 U.S. times in that age group.<\/p>\n

Following Connery were Logan Zucker<\/strong> (1:51.81), Jacob Wimberly<\/strong> (1:52.09) and Baylor Nelson<\/strong> (1:50.27).<\/p>\n

YMCA Hub Fins\u2019 Sam Stewart<\/strong> won the men\u2019s 100 backstroke in 54.59, ahead of Indiana\u2019s Brendan Burns (54.86).<\/p>\n

Long Island Aquatic\u2019s Cavan Gormsen<\/strong>, 16, won the 400 free in 4:10.79 ahead of 14-year-old Claire Weinstein<\/strong> of Westchester Aquatics (4:11.11).<\/p>\n

In the men\u2019s 400 free, Ohio State\u2019s Charlie Clark<\/strong> won in 3:51.65, four seconds ahead of the field.<\/p>\n
