Andrew Capobianco<\/strong> advanced to and competed in the Men\u2019s 3-Meter Finals today at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Capobianco, who had earned a silver medal earlier in the week in the synchronized competition with Michael Hixon<\/strong>, advanced to finals after qualifying 17th in the semifinal round earlier in the day.<\/p>\n

Capobianco started his final list of 6 dives with a forward 2 \u00bd somersaults 2 twists pike, scoring 8\u2019s for a total of 81.6 points, making it his highest scoring dive of the day. He remained in the top 5 through the second round but due to some errors in his third and fourth rounds he dropped to 10th place.<\/p>\n

“This afternoon didn\u2019t go as well as I had hoped it would,” Andrew Capobianco said, “But, I\u2019m really proud of how I\u2019ve handled myself over the past few weeks. It\u2019s been a little bit of a struggle with me mentally and physically. I had a little bit of a back injury coming into this and just learning how to push through it. I\u2019m a little bit relieved and excited for some rest, but overall, I\u2019m feeling very confident leading into 2024 and I\u2019m really excited to see what I can do.”<\/p>\n
