﻿{"id":484502,"date":"2021-11-02T06:00:19","date_gmt":"2021-11-02T13:00:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=484502"},"modified":"2021-11-02T08:53:50","modified_gmt":"2021-11-02T15:53:50","slug":"a-reminder-of-the-qualifying-standards-for-the-2022-ncaa-championships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/a-reminder-of-the-qualifying-standards-for-the-2022-ncaa-championships\/","title":{"rendered":"A Reminder Of The Qualifying Standards For The 2022 NCAA Championships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As the NCAA season picks up momentum, here is another look at the NCAA Division I Championships qualifying standards, and while several races are the same as last year, there are a few differences, mostly with the automatic &#8220;A&#8221; cuts.<\/p>\n<p>On the women&#8217;s side, the &#8220;A&#8221; cuts for the 100 and 200 breaststroke events are slightly faster, while the men&#8217;s 100 and 200 backstroke events are slightly faster (0.01 and 0.03, respectively). The men&#8217;s 400 free is also two tenths faster, while the 100 butterfly is nine hundredths faster.<\/p>\n<p>As for relays, the qualifying standard is slightly different in all of the men&#8217;s relays and the women&#8217;s 400 free relay.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, in the women&#8217;s meet, Virginia won the NCAA championship for the first time in school history. It was the first time an ACC team had won the meet.\u00a0Meanwhile, Texas reclaimed the NCAA men&#8217;s championship to give coach<strong> Eddie Reese<\/strong> a 15th title.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the <a
