Beginning at 10:30 a.m. Tokyo time Tuesday morning (9:30 p.m. ET\/6:30 p.m. PT Monday in the USA), the two-hour session will include four gold-medal finals. Finals will be in the women&#8217;s 200 breaststroke, men&#8217;s 200 backstroke, women&#8217;s 10 freestyle and men&#8217;s 200 IM. Semifinals in the men&#8217;s 100 butterfly and women&#8217;s 200 backstroke also will take place.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/2020-tokyo-olympic-games\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Full Olympics coverage<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/olympics.com\/tokyo-2020\/olympic-games\/en\/results\/swimming\/olympic-schedule-and-results.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Event schedule and results<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/2020-tokyo-olympic-games-day-6-finals-heat-sheets-day-6\/international-elite\/2021\/July\/29?rtn=%2Fresults%2F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Finals heat sheet<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 2\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>The first event of the session is the semifinals of the 100 butterfly as 100 free gold medalist <strong>Caeleb Dressel<\/strong> and 200 fly gold medalist <strong>Kristof Milak<\/strong> will look to take the top seeds heading into finals.<\/p>\n<p>The first final of the night is the women&#8217;s 200 breaststroke. South Africa&#8217;s <strong>Tatjana Schoenmaker<\/strong> has the top seed in the event, while Americans<strong> Annie Lazor<\/strong> and <strong>Lilly King<\/strong> will be in the hunt.<\/p>\n<p>The first men&#8217;s final of the night is the 200 backstroke. Evgeny Rylov has the top seed, while Americans <strong>Ryan Murphy<\/strong> and <strong>Bryce Mefford<\/strong> are in the hunt along with Great Britain&#8217;s <strong>Luke Greenbank<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Olympics final in the women&#8217;s 100 freestyle will be the closest contested race of the session with seven of the eight finalists within six tenths of a second during prelims. Australia&#8217;s <strong>Emma McKeon<\/strong> has the top seed and will aim for individual gold, while Hong Kong&#8217;s <strong>Siobhan Haughey<\/strong> is looking to build on Hong Kong&#8217;s first ever swimming medal, which she won in the 200 free. She has the second seed. Meanwhile, Sweden&#8217;s <strong>Sarah Sjostrom<\/strong> is the world record holder in the event and Canada&#8217;s <strong>Penny Oleksiak<\/strong> is the defending Olympic Gold Medalist. That still leaves sprinting stars <strong>Cate Campbell, Abbey Weitzeil, Femke Heemskerk<\/strong> and <strong>Anna Hopkin<\/strong>, all looking to get their hand on the wall first.<\/p>\n<p>The men&#8217;s 200 IM will see a showdown between Great Britain&#8217;s <strong>Duncan Scott,<\/strong> China&#8217;s <strong>Wang Shun<\/strong>, Japan&#8217;s <strong>Daiya Seto<\/strong> and USA&#8217;s <strong>Michael Andrew<\/strong>, while it is the last Olympic final for Laszlo Cseh <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/at-35-laszlo-cseh-set-for-one-last-olympic-final-in-200-im-before-retirement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">before his retirement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The final individual event is the women&#8217;s 200 backstroke semifinals where Americans Rhyan White and Phoebe Bacon will look to crack into the top eight with familiar faces <strong>Taylor Ruck<\/strong> and<strong> Kylie Masse<\/strong> of Canada and <strong>Kaylee McKeown<\/strong> and <strong>Emily Seebohm<\/strong> of Australia.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The heat sheets have been posted for sixth morning of finals action at the 2021 Olympics.
