Beginning at 10:30 a.m. Tokyo time Tuesday morning (9:30 p.m. ET\/6:30 p.m. PT Monday in the USA), the two-hour session will include five gold-medal finals for the first time since the Olympics were stretched out over eight days and semifinals were added at the 2000 Games. Finals on the agenda include the women&#8217;s 200 freestyle, men&#8217;s 200 butterfly, women&#8217;s 200 IM, women&#8217;s 1500 freestyle and men&#8217;s 800 freestyle relay. Both the 200 free and 1500 free feature\u00a0<strong>Katie Ledecky<\/strong>, the seven-time Olympic medalist aiming for her first gold in Tokyo.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/2020-tokyo-olympic-games\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Full Olympics coverage<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/olympics.com\/tokyo-2020\/olympic-games\/en\/results\/swimming\/olympic-schedule-and-results.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Event schedule and results<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/results\/pdf\/2021-tokyo-olympics-day-four-finals-heat-sheets-international-elite-2021-07-24.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Day four finals heat sheets<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ledecky will be a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/olympics-ariarne-titmus-overtakes-siobhan-haughey-to-lead-200-free-semifinals-ledecky-third\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">clear underdog to\u00a0<strong>Ariarne Titmus<\/strong> in the 200 free as Titmus<\/a> will take a shot at the world record as she tries to win her second gold of this meet, but Ledecky should be well ahead of the field in the 1500 free final, with that event on the docket for the Games for the first time ever. The other women&#8217;s final, the 200 IM, will be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/olympic-semifinals-virginias-kate-douglass-alex-walsh-go-1-3-in-womens-200-im-semis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a wide open affair with less experienced swimmers holding the top four seeds<\/a>: the USA&#8217;s <strong>Kate Douglass<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Alex Walsh<\/strong>, Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Abbie Wood<\/strong> and China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yu Yiting<\/strong>.
