Beginning at 10:30 a.m. Tokyo time Monday morning (9:30 p.m. ET\/6:30 p.m. PT Sunday in the USA), the session will include finals action in the women&#8217;s 100 butterfly, men&#8217;s 100 breaststroke, women&#8217;s 400 freestyle and men&#8217;s 400 freestyle relay, as well as four different semifinals.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/olympics.com\/tokyo-2020\/olympic-games\/en\/results\/swimming\/olympic-schedule-and-results.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Event schedule<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/results\/pdf\/2021-tokyo-olympics-day-two-finals-heat-sheets-international-elite-2021-07-24.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Heat sheets<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Leading things off will be the women&#8217;s 100 butterfly, seemingly a wide-open heat that will feature China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Zhang Yufei<\/strong> as the top seed, with\u00a0<strong>Marie Wattel<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Emma McKeon<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Sarah Sjostrom<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Torri Huske<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Maggie MacNeil<\/strong> in close pursuit. Next,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/adam-peaty-arno-kamminga-set-for-two-man-duel-in-olympic-100-breaststroke-final\/\"><strong>Adam Peaty<\/strong> will be on the hunt for another world record as he seeks to defend his gold medal in the men&#8217;s 100 breast<\/a>, and then we will see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/olympics-katie-ledecky-ariarne-titmus-lined-up-for-400-free-duel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the first <strong>Katie Ledecky<\/strong>&#8211;<strong>Ariarne Titmus<\/strong> showdown of the Tokyo Games in the 400 free final<\/a>. Both swimmers won their preliminary heats to set up the match race, with Ledecky seeded first in lane four and Titmus seeded third in lane three.<\/p>\n<p>The evening will conclude with the men&#8217;s 400 free relay final, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/olympics-italy-nails-down-top-seed-in-400-freestyle-relay-usa-second-with-caeleb-dressel-to-come\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Italy will be the top seed after a dominant performance in prelims<\/a>, with\u00a0<strong>Caeleb Dressel<\/strong> set to join the second-seeded U.S. team for his Olympic debut. Meanwhile, the Russian Olympic Committee had been considered a strong gold medal contender, but that squad barely qualified for the final after finishing eighth (by just 0.04 over Great Britain), so we&#8217;ll see if the Russians can mount a medal charge from lane eight.<\/p>\n<p>The semifinals on tap include the women&#8217;s 100 back, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/olympics-kaylee-mckeown-last-of-three-to-set-100-back-olympic-record\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">where three different swimmers (<strong>Kylie Masse<\/strong>, then\u00a0<strong>Regan Smith<\/strong>, then\u00a0<strong>Kaylee McKeown<\/strong>) all broke the Olympic record during prelims<\/a>.\u00a0The men&#8217;s 100 back saw\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/olympics-kliment-kolesnikov-maintains-season-momentum-as-top-seed-in-100-backstroke\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Kliment Kolesnikov<\/strong> roar to the top qualifying mark in prelims<\/a>, while\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/olympics-tatjana-schoenmaker-sets-olympic-record-in-100-breast\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Tatjana Schoenmaker<\/strong> posted a surprising Olympic record in the women&#8217;s 100 breast<\/a>. Schoenmaker will swim next to defending gold medalist\u00a0<strong>Lilly King<\/strong> in the second semifinal Monday morning.
