The International Swimming Hall of Fame (ISHOF) will use its broadcast and media platforms to encourage donations for Every Child A Swimmer (ECAS).\u00a0 The Pool and Hot Tub Foundation (PHTF) will be responsible for the administration of all ECAS donations including donor acknowledgments and issuance of grant awards.<\/p>\n

In December of 2020, Rowdy Gaines<\/a> became the Vice President of Partnerships and Development for PHTA with the responsibility of overseeing the Step Into Swim program.\u00a0 He will be working closely with Brent Rutemiller<\/strong>, CEO of ISHOF and his staff to raise money for drowning prevention measures and awareness.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cI have worked my whole career to promote swim lessons and to prevent childhood drowning. I can\u2019t think of a better partnership to further this cause than to work with ISHOF to make Every Child A Swimmer.\u201d – Rowdy Gaines<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cThrough this collaboration, both PHTA and ISHOF will leverage our respective strengths to create learn-to-swim opportunities for communities across the country.\u00a0 Together, we hope to increase conversations about water safety in order to mitigate the tragedy of unintentional drowning.\u201d stated PHTA President and CEO Sabeena Hickman<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis relationship builds upon the International Swimming Hall of Fame recent success with the Florida State Legislature<\/a> where the Every Child A Swimmer bill passed requiring schools to inform parents on the importance of teaching their children how to swim.\u201d \u2013 Bill Kent<\/strong>, Chairman of the International Swimming Hall of Fame<\/p>\n

The Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA)<\/a>, is a non-profit organization with nearly 3,500 members from around the world. Established in 1956, PHTA supports, promotes, and protects the common interests of the $36.5B pool, hot tub and spa industry. PHTA provides education, advocacy, standards development, research, and market growth to increase our members\u2019 professionalism, knowledge and profitability. Additionally, PHTA facilitates the expansion of swimming, water safety and related research and outreach activities aimed at introducing more people to swimming, making swimming environments safer and keeping pools open to serve communities.<\/p>\n

The Pool and Hot Tub Foundation (PHTF): PHTF is a division of PHTA, organized pursuant to Section 501(c)(3) of the IRC. PHTF provides education to the pool & hot tub industry, and is the fundraising and philanthropic arm for PHTA supported programs.<\/p>\n

\"LOGO_Step<\/a><\/p>\n

Step Into Swim (SIS): The SIS campaign is a program created by the Pool & Hot Tub Foundation to prevent drowning by providing swimming lessons to children in under-privileged communities. Since its inception in 2012, SIS has provided grants to aquatic facilities across the country in order to fund swim lessons. To date, 280,000 kids have learned to swim as a result of these grants. SIS is a PHTF-registered trademark.<\/p>\n

The International Swimming Hall of Fame (ISHOF)<\/a>: ISHOF is an organization organized under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRC with a primary mission to collaborate with aquatic organizations worldwide to preserve, educate and celebrate the history of aquatic sports while promoting swimming instruction for children through its Every Child A Swimmer program (ECAS).<\/p>\n
