Duke University on Wednesday announced the hiring of Riley Boulden<\/strong> and Carlye Ellis<\/strong> as assistant coaches on the swimming and diving staff.<\/p>\n

Boulden was last a volunteer assistant coach at NC State<\/a>, helping the Wolfpack to a pair of runner-up finishes at the ACC Championships and the women to a runner-up result at NCAAs. Boulden was an assistant for three seasons at Florida Atlantic University from 2017-20. He was previous an assistant coach at Army (2014-17) and an assistant coach\/associate aquatics director at DePauw University (2012-14).<\/p>\n

Boulden, a 2010 graduate of the University of Alabama, won two high school state championships in Indiana. The Indianapolis native had two U.S. Olympic Trials cuts in 2008 and set the Crimson Tide\u2019s 200 IM record, which held until 2017.<\/p>\n

Ellis was an assistant coach at Ohio University for three seasons, where she worked as the recruiting coordinator, power training coordinator, director of operations and team culture administrator. The Bobcats had their highest finish at the Mid-American Conference in eight seasons under her watch.<\/p>\n

Ellis was previously an assistant at Cornell from 2015-18 after spending two seasons as a graduate assistant at Valparaiso. She also coached at Nitro Swimming in Austin, where she had been a standout at the University of Texas. A 2011 graduate, she was part of two school-record relays and two Big 12 Championships and a two-time All-American.<\/p>\n
