{"id":480337,"date":"2021-06-29T16:12:41","date_gmt":"2021-06-29T23:12:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=480337"},"modified":"2021-06-29T16:12:41","modified_gmt":"2021-06-29T23:12:41","slug":"dartmouth-completes-rebuilt-swim-staff-with-assistant-daniel-graber","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/dartmouth-completes-rebuilt-swim-staff-with-assistant-daniel-graber\/","title":{"rendered":"Dartmouth Completes Rebuilt Swim Staff with Assistant Daniel Graber"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Dartmouth Completes Rebuilt Swim Staff with Assistant Daniel Graber<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Daniel Graber<\/strong> is the latest addition to the rebuilt coaching staff for Dartmouth College&#8217;s men\u2019s and women\u2019s swimming and diving teams, hired by head coach <strong>Jesse Moore<\/strong> on Monday to round out his staff.<\/p>\n<p>Graber worked as a volunteer assistant coach in 2020-21 at Virginia Tech, mentoring the mid-distance and sprint groups. Those swimmers had outstanding postseasons, breaking 18 program records and, on the men\u2019s side, remaining in touch for the Atlantic Coast Conference team title <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/acc-mens-championships-day-3-youssef-ramadan-re-sets-100-fly-record\/\">until the final day of competition<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>With Graber on staff, the Hokies finished 21st at women\u2019s NCAAs, beating the program&#8217;s previous best finish of 40th. The men, who had never finished higher than 35th, were 11th. Both programs set all-time highs for NCAA qualifiers.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m so excited to welcome Daniel to Dartmouth,&#8221; Moore said <a href=\"https:\/\/dartmouthsports.com\/news\/2021\/6\/28\/mens-swimming-diving-daniel-graber-added-to-swimming-and-diving-staff.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in a college statement<\/a>. &#8220;Daniel&#8217;s experience as an elite student-athlete earning All-American honors while majoring in engineering will make him a phenomenal example of both academic and athletic excellence for our student-athletes. He was mentored as a coach over the past year by <strong>Sergio Lopez,<\/strong> one of the best coaches in the world, and will have so much coaching knowledge and swimming experience to offer our Dartmouth swimmers and divers!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Graber graduated from NC State in 2019, where he was a two-time ACC champion. The Wolfpack won four ACC titles and had four top-four finishes at NCAAs in his time there. He began his coaching career as an assistant age-group coach for the TAC Titans in Raleigh, then moved to Va Tech. In Blacksburg, he also was an assistant coach for Pinnacle Racing\u2019s post-grad training group, working under the direction of Lopez and with a group of experienced, international swimmers.<\/p>\n<p>Moore was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/jesse-moore-hired-as-head-coach-of-dartmouth-swimming-diving\/\">hired as head coach<\/a> after the university reinstated the program in the spring. He has also added <strong>Lianne McCluskey<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/reinstated-dartmouth-adds-lianne-mccluskey-as-assistant-coach\/\">as an assistant
