NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>Stanford University has received their first public verbal commitment for their Class of 2026 from Olympic Trials qualifier Gigi Johnson\u00a0<\/strong>of Atlanta, Ga.<\/p>\n

Regarding her commitment, she said:<\/p>\n

“I am so honored and excited to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at Stanford University! Huge thank you\u2019s to coach caleb for helping me chase my dreams and to my friends and family for their endless support. I cannot wait to join the farm!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

An extremely versatile swimmer, Johnson does her club swimming with SwimAtlanta. She competed in Wave I of the U.S. Olympic Trials most recently, finishing third in the 100m fly and 10th in the 200m IM.\u00a0 She also had a strong showing at the Mizuno Atlanta Classic in May where she registered five lifetime bests.<\/p>\n

Johnson had five first-place finishes at the 18&U Winter Championships – Norcross in December after competing at the Toyota U.S. Open. In December 2019, she won the B-final of the 100 free and placed eighth in the 200 IM at Juniors East.<\/p>\n

She was also the silver medalist in the 200m breast at Junior Nationals in August 2019.<\/p>\n
