NEW COMMIT:\u00a0<\/strong>The University of South Carolina has received their first verbal commitment for the fall of 2022 from Junior National qualifier Sterling Burd\u00a0<\/strong>of Hilton Head, S.C.<\/p>\n

She told\u00a0Swimming World:<\/em><\/p>\n

“I am beyond thrilled to announce my commitment to be a USC Gamecock for the next 4 years! Swimming is my passion and I\u2019m ready to have incredible teammates and coaches that will push me to be the best swimmer I can be! I would love to take this time to thank my Lord and Savior, my family and Coach Mike at H2A for their dedication and support to getting me to where I am today! I am super excited to have this amazing opportunity. With that being said\u2026 Go Cocks!???”<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A talented butterflyer and freestyler, Burd does her club swimming with Hilton Head Aquatics and finaled in four events at the NCSA Championships in March after collecting gold in the 1000 free at South Carolina Seniors the month prior. She also finished sixth in the 200 fly at Cary Sectionals.<\/p>\n

Burd is a rising senior at Hilton Head Christian Academy.<\/p>\n
