With six weeks until the Olympic Games, the United States will be selecting its Olympic team this week in Omaha, Nebraska. The finals of the women&#8217;s 200 breast and 100 freestyle, and the men&#8217;s 200 back and 200 IM will be held on Friday night as the meet is starting to come down to the wire. Finals will start at 8 p.m. CST, an hour later than the usual finals sessions, and will be streamed on NBCOlympics.com and NBC.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/stream.nbcolympics.com\/swimming-us-trials-day-6-finals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Live Stream<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.omegatiming.com\/2021\/us-olympic-team-trials-wave-ii-live-results\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Live Results<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/results\/pdf\/2021-us-olympic-trials-day-six-finals-heat-sheets-day-6-usa-senior-national-2021-06-18.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Heat Sheets<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The United States will be searching for a new name to take the reigns in the women&#8217;s 100 freestyle as\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/u-s-olympic-trials-simone-manuel-finishes-ninth-in-100-free-after-missing-three-weeks-of-training-in-april\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Simone Manuel<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>finished ninth in the semifinals last night, while\u00a0<strong>Olivia Smoliga\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Natalie Hinds\u00a0<\/strong>tied for the top seed last night and will be in the center of the pool.\u00a0Defending Trials champ\u00a0<strong>Abbey Weitzeil\u00a0<\/strong>will be looking to make her second Olympic team while\u00a0<strong>Catie DeLoof\u00a0<\/strong>has the potential to be the fourth swimmer from the University of Virginia training base to make the Tokyo team.<\/p>\n<p>In the men&#8217;s 200 IM, 36-year-old\u00a0<strong>Ryan Lochte\u00a0<\/strong>will have all eyes on him whether he can make his fifth Olympic team that will make him the third American swimmer to do so, while 22-year-old\u00a0<strong>Michael Andrew\u00a0<\/strong>will grab the attention of the Chi Health Center crowd with his blistering speed through 150 meters where he was way under world record pace in last night&#8217;s semifinals.\u00a0<strong>Chase Kalisz<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Carson Foster\u00a0<\/strong>are expected to duel for the second spot behind Andrew unless he finds himself slipping in the final similar to what happened in the 100 breaststroke.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lilly King\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Ryan Murphy\u00a0<\/strong>will be the top seeds in the 200 breaststroke and backstroke in their pursuit to pick up a second event for Tokyo and a chance to put themselves in gold medal contention at the Games.\u00a0<strong>Annie Lazor\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Austin Katz\u00a0<\/strong>are the second seeds in those two events and have a chance to make their first Olympic team.<\/p>\n<p>In semifinal action,\u00a0<strong>Caeleb Dressel\u00a0<\/strong>may put the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/caeleb-dressel-shatters-100-fly-world-record-in-49-50-rome-2009-phelps-vs-cavic-battle-is-history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">world record<\/a> on notice in the 100 butterfly as he turned in the ninth fastest time ever in the heats with a 50.17. The second spot for tomorrow night&#8217;s final will be up for grabs as no one at the moment looks like the overwhelming favorite.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Regan Smith\u00a0<\/strong>is the top seed in the 200 back semis and is the favorite to win tomorrow night, which would make her third event for the Games. 18-year-old\u00a0<strong>Phoebe Bacon\u00a0<\/strong>is seeded second as the NCAA champ is looking to make her first team.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After a five-year long wait, the US Olympic Trials have finally arrived.
