The Judges\u2019 2020-21 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, leaving McCluskey to adapt to a new role.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am thrilled to welcome Lianne McCluskey to the woods,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/jesse-moore-hired-as-head-coach-of-dartmouth-swimming-diving\/\">head coach<\/a> <strong>Jesse Moore<\/strong> said in a university statement. \u201cLianne\u2019s expertise coaching at the club and collegiate level will launch our student-athletes to success. I love her age-group coaching experience because those fundamental skills we teach our youth are the very foundation of the more complex mechanics we teach our student-athletes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI knew from our very first conversation that she was the type of person born to mentor our swimmers and divers. Her zest, empathy, and compassion were not only felt by our student-athletes, but by former colleagues with whom she worked.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McCluskey is part of the rebuilding of a program that was slated for discontinuation last summer but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/even-in-really-amazing-victory-dartmouth-swimming-sees-work-still-to-do\/\">reinstated in the spring<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>McCluskey served as a graduate assistant for two seasons at Smith. She also worked at the University of Texas\u2019s Longhorn Swim Camp and competed classes at the NCAA Women\u2019s Coaching Academy.<\/p>\n<p>McCluskey was a Division III All-American at Denison before transferring to La Salle. She graduated in 2014 with a degree in communications and journalism.
