Annie Lazor<\/strong> missed the Olympic team in the 100 breaststroke by one spot at the U.S. Olympic trials, and looked to bounce back in the 20 \u2014 her best event.<\/p>\n

Lazor put together a strong race to take the top seed at 2:23.63, a stellar prelim swim. She leads the top 16 qualifiers for tonight’s semifinals.<\/p>\n

The second seed went to Ella Nelson,<\/strong> who finished in 2:25.35, also in the final heat with Emily Escobedo<\/strong>, who ended up fourth in 2:26.18.<\/p>\n

Lilly King<\/strong> has already punched her ticket to Tokyo by winning the 100 breaststroke at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Omaha.<\/p>\n

But she isn’t finished.<\/p>\n

King took the third seed in the 200 breaststroke during Thursday’s preliminary session as she attempts to make the team in both distances for the second time<\/a>. She won the 100 breaststroke earlier in the meet<\/a>.<\/p>\n

King won her heat with a 2:25.82 to finish well ahead of the rest of the field \u2014 four seconds ahead of Julia Poole<\/strong> (2:20.75) in that heat.<\/p>\n

In the first circle-seeded heat, Bethany Galat<\/strong> took the top spot in 2:26.51, ahead of Micah Sumrall<\/strong> (2:27.96), who put together a strong final 50, and Allie Raab<\/strong> (2:28.36).<\/p>\n

Galat, like Annie Lazor, had a shot in the 100 breaststroke as well, but a late push from Alaska’s Lydia Jacoby<\/strong> got her the second spot behind King in the event as she will become the first Olympic swimmer from Alaska.<\/p>\n

Madisyn Cox<\/strong> scratched the event as did Vanessa Pearl<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
